Breast Study

Thermal imaging is extremely popular for women monitoring their breast health and is fantastic for young women with dense or fibrocystic tissue. Thermal imaging can help you understand how your hormones play an important role in your breast health and can see patterns that may indicate your peri menopausal/menopausal status. It is also great for those who have had a partial or full mastectomy.

Here is an example of someone who showed increased heat in her right breast and right axillary lymph node region. Her left breast was a score of TH-1 and her right a score of

TH-4. This patient had a follow up scan 7 months later and the improvement is incredible. Testament to this patient for her dedication to her health as the results speak for themselves. Her right breast is down to a TH-3 and will still be monitored with thermal imaging as she continues with her therapies.

Below is an example of lymphatic congestion under the left axillary region. 3 weeks of lymphatic massage and dry brushing has shown a great improvement.

Breast Implants

Thermography is also a safe way to check the status of breast implants. Breast implants on a thermal view will look symmetrical in size, shape and temperature, making ruptures quite obvious. An implant breach will make the breast look misshapen or a different colour to the other breast. This does depend on the placement of the implant as with some placements, symmetry is not as pronounced. If the thermography interpreters are in any doubt and MRI will be recommended.

Thermography is an investigative tool and results may justify further clinical assessment. Thermography is not a stand alone diagnostic test.
